Black Vulcanite - Black Colonialists LP - with FREE limited edition 7" single

from 22.00

FREE rare 7" with each LP!

The first pressing of this remarkable album came to us and I remember going about my daily thing of setting up a cut and sipping a cup of coffee. About 2 tracks in I looked over and though hang on a sec what is this we have here. After a couple plays through I was hooked.

This is a record that rewards repeated listens. I mean it is great the first time, but it is deep and sonically eloquent. It is lyrically rich and the narratives are expertly told with real assurance. It is also the first Namibian Hip Hop record put on vinyl which we are really proud of. Listen for yourself and enjoy.

"When futuristic Namibian rap trio Black Vulcanite burst onto the southern African hip-hop scene in 2013, they brought with them an air of consciousness that had been missing for some time." OkayAfrica.com

" Black Vulcanite combines banging classic boom-bap beats with lyrical flow. It’s more like poetry, which is why these dudes are exciting poets, rappers and hip hop fans alike." WordIsBond.com

"Black Vulcanite is a Namibian three man Hip Hop/Poetry group that consists of three powerful lyricists Mark Mushiva (MarkQuestion), Alain Villet (AliTHATdude) and Nikolai Tjongarero (OKIN17) who use unadulterated Hip Hop to introduce the tourist ear to life in Africa." namhiphopnews

"Black Vulcanite, they appear to remember the future. They are not a rag tag posse of loonies that see things that don’t exist; they are a rag tag posse of loonies that see things that don’t exist YET. Some of you will call them visionaries long after their time and some of you will marvel at their gifts today. This bio has nothing to do with precognition or how they are kinda fuggen dope, this is a terrestrial and extraterrestrial broadcast announcing their presence in your schools, malls and offices. I hope you are watching closely.

We are the voice of a thousand griots." African Hip Hop Blog
